Traditional Cleaning

Overview

This is a proven window cleaning technique that offers the best possible results. Unlike those using a waterfed brush system our cleaners are able to make a close inspection of all windows once finished. This reduces the risk of any marks being left by accident. To find out more on the benefits of this method over the waterfed brush system, for window cleaning, please take a look at our FAQ section.

How it works

Cleaners apply a mix of water and detergent to windows using specially designed applicators. A rubber squeegee is then used to remove all water and detergent. Sills are then wiped clean with a cloth to finish. Telescopic poles are used to extend a cleaners reach where ladder access to windows is restricted.

Cleaning by Hand

Overview

This method is used on georgian styled windows that are too small for squeegee work as well as leaded windows. Professional cleaning cloths are used to ensure the best results. PVC surfaces, such as frames and roofline whites, are also cleaned using this method.

How it works

Cleaners use a damp or wet cloth to rub down surfaces with detergent. A dry cloth is then used to buff the surface, leaving it free of any dirt or residue.

Waterfed Brush

Overview

This system is used for cleaning conservatory roofs and solar panels. In some cases it is also used on PVC wall cladding and other surfaces. This method provides a safe and effective cleaning solution where traditional cleaning is not possible.

How it works

Cleaners use a brush attached to a telescopic pole to clean glass or PVC surfaces. Water and detergent are fed to the brush continuously to help remove and rinse away dirt.

Your home

Our cleaners also respect your home and your belongings, taking care to avoid causing any damage. However, accidents can happen and so our cleaners carry full public liability insurance.

If you have any particular concerns we are always happy to keep a note on our files so that any cleaner visiting your home is aware of the issue.

You & your family

The safety of you and your family is of great importance to us. We make every effort to reduce any risks and always keep notes on specific areas of concern. We always follow our customer's instructions regarding the security of their home in full. Whether this means keeping access ways closed at all times or locking a gate when finished we make sure it gets done.

We also recognize the vulnerability of small children and pets that may be in gardens whilst cleaners are at work. Our cleaners are trained to be aware of the possible dangers and take steps to minimize risk. They can also be instructed to alert you before commencing a clean should you prefer to bring children/pets inside your home first.

Our cleaners

All our cleaners are fully trained for work at height and in the use of portable ladders. They are also assessed periodically to ensure they remain safe at all times.

Telescopic poles are used to extend a cleaner's reach where access to windows is too dangerous otherwise. It is not always possible to access every window safely even with this system. In such circumstances it is our policy to leave these windows. We will notify you if any such issues arise prior to carrying out any work.

Our cleaners are limited to a maximum working height of six meters. This conforms with HSE portable ladder use guidelines and is in place to ensure the safety of our cleaners. Some windows above this height can be cleaned by utilizing telescopic poles; this is offered on an individual basis only.

Who we are

We are a family run company with several cleaners working throughout Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire and Buckinghamshire.

Our current office staff includes Alan, Kathy and George. They are always on hand to help with any requests and offer support to all our valued customers.

The majority of our cleaners work on set rounds, providing great cleaning for their regular customers. We also have a relief cleaner who helps out the other cleaners when they fall behind on their rounds. This arrangement ensures our customers receive a friendly, reliable service all year round.

A little history

The company was established by Alan Thomas in 2005. Having already worked as a window cleaner for some time he used the experience gained to set up his own round. Building on a reputation for quality cleaning and reliability Alan has grown his small round into a thriving family business. Many of the original customers Alan first took on still use our services to this day, a testament to the quality of service we continue to provide.

We continue to develop as a company even to this day, striving to improve our services and the support we give our customers. We are constantly looking for new ways to improve our services such as diverse payment options, advanced booking tools and direct feedback facilities.

Payments Scheduling Cleaning Cleaners General

General

Why can you not clean all my windows?

In general, we cannot clean a window when we are unable to access it safely using ladders and/or telescopic poles. This often includes any windows directly above conservatory or corrogated roofs as well as some windows higher than six metres.

Why has your cleaner missed a window this time?

Your cleaner may miss a window that is normally cleaned if they are temporarily unable to access it safely. This could be due to an obstruction that cannot be cleared easily or icy/wet conditions (this is a particular problem over decked areas).

If you feel the window could have been cleaned safely, it is possible the cleaner simply missed it by mistake. While this is rare, our cleaners are only human. If you think this is the case, please call us immediately and we will arrange for your cleaner to re

Your cleaner has damaged my property. What happens now?

We will usually contact you immediately but if you have not heard from us then please contact us straight away. We will ensure any damages are covered by the cleaner. Should the cost of repair/replacement be substantial then a claim to the cleaners insurer may be required. We will do everything possible to minimise any inconvenience to you and all costs will be covered.

You should not arrange a repair/replacement before contacting us as we may not be able to offer compensation if you do so.

What is your fair work policy?

Put simply, our fair work policy guarantees our cleaners receive a fair income for the work they do.

If a cleaner feels any work is under priced they have the right to refuse to carry it out. In most cases they will offer a revised price.

This happens very rarely. When it does happen, it is usually due to one of the following:

  • A long postponement between cleans

  • Recent building work on or near the property

  • A recent change to the layout of the property

Why do you charge more for a first clean?

In accordance with our fair work policy we charge extra for a first clean where surfaces are particularly dirty.

The longer the work will take, the higher the charge. If you think a first clean charge has been applied in error you should contact us before work commences.
